Coastal exploration trips
But it isn’t all about hurtling over the waves! The marine environment of the Berwickshire coast is also rewarding at a slower pace - hence our Coastal Exploration trips. They are perfect for birdwatchers, photographers, geologists - and everyone else who appreciates nature and wild places. We head north-west across the bay and take you gently in to where the mighty cliffs soar. St Abbs Head is around 300ft / 90m high. Thousands of seabirds - guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and others - nest between April and August around St Abbs Head - a National Nature Reserve. Seeing them from the sea gives a whole new perspective. (Just remember your camera.) The return journey takes in the Burnmouth sea caves where local legends say smugglers worked.
Combine a coastal walk and a rib trip
We also provide an Eyemouth - St Abbs Shuttle Service. The path between the two communities (3.5 miles / 6km) is simply one of Scotland’s great coastal footpaths and takes in beautiful Coldingham Bay. It’s part of the waymarked Berwickshire Coastal Path. It’s also the ideal length for an afternoon’s walk. And we’ll pick you up either at St Abbs or Eyemouth at the start or end of your excursion. Simple! It’s a brilliant way of exploring a beautiful and unspoilt piece of Scottish Borders landscape. A real holiday highlight. Well-behaved dogs welcome too!
